It's time for you to flip the cube, yellow center facing up. You will be inserting the second layer edges, one by one, following these recipes.
From now on, it's all about memorizing. First with your head then muscle memory kicks in.
In case you are missing a piece, e.g., you want to insert Red - Green edge, but it is badly located somewhere in the second layer, just skip to the next color. As in this example, inserting Blue - Red in time will release the missing Red - Green piece to the top layer.
Some times, the missing piece is in place, but badly turned, as with the Red - Blue in the example above. In this case, skipping forward will not do the trick. Just insert a dummy Yellow - Something. This will extract your piece to the top layer.
I have two more tricks for you, but my advice is move on to the next stage. Come back here when you have completed all stages and want to improve a bit.
This special case only applies when two opposite same color pieces are replaced.
Note the new move "E". Can you understand it from its icon? It basically means rotating the middle layer twice.
Look how this simple move saves you 4 inserts (2 dummies and 2 real ones).
This last example might not really be a time saver, but it is a good preview to the more advanced level - 'CFOP'. You will hear more about it in the "Advanced" segment.
